| Aanvullende informatie |
Cook Islands has issued commemorative dollars under its name since the 1970s, functioning as a de facto licensing arrangement — the designs are conceived, marketed, and sold entirely outside the islands, with Cook Islands providing legal tender status in exchange. The "M3 Lee" in this designation refers to the American medium tank used extensively by Allied forces from 1941, including at the Battle of Gazala and during the North African campaign, where British crews famously nicknamed it the "Lee" to distinguish it from the slightly modified "Grant" variant.
These gold-plated copper issues are collector items with no circulation history whatsoever.
