正面描述	The obverse presents the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, depicting a mature right-facing portrait of the Queen bare-headed, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA arcs along the upper periphery of the field. The effigy reflects the Queen at approximately 77 years of age and replaced the earlier Dora de Pédery-Hunt portrait on Canadian coinage from 2003 onward.

附加信息	The "Lucky Loonie" concept began at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, when a Canadian ice technician secretly embedded a loonie beneath centre ice at the hockey venue. Both the men's and women's teams won gold. The RCM formalized the superstition into a product line, issuing this 2004 piece ahead of the Athens Summer Games, where Canadian athletes again carried the coin as a talisman. Whether the Athens results justified the marketing is a matter of record: Canada's Athens medal haul was modest by historical standards.
