| 背面描述 | A naturalistic, pad-printed full-colour vignette occupies the central field, depicting a flock of Lesser Flamingos (Phoeniconaias minor) standing in shallow water, their pale pink and white plumage rendered in vivid polychrome detail with characteristic dark-tipped bills and slender red legs. The legend LESSER FLAMINGO arcs along the upper periphery in incuse Latin lettering, while the denomination $1 appears in the lower exergue. The colour illustration contrasts effectively against the polished Virenium ground. |

Virenium is a proprietary nickel-based alloy developed and trademarked by Pobjoy Mint, used almost exclusively on their own contract issues. The pad printing process — essentially industrial inkjet technology applied directly to the coin surface — allows photorealistic color without the enamel inlays or cloisonné work traditional to colored coins, though its long-term wear resistance remains a point of debate among collectors.
The Lesser Flamingo, native to sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, has no particular ecological connection to the British Virgin Islands — its appearance here reflects Pobjoy's long-running wildlife series strategy rather than local fauna documentation.
