A curved legend GREAT ANIMALS OF THE WORLD arcs along the upper border, flanked by the multilingual translations LEOPARD, 6АРС, LEOPARDO, and LUIPAARD arranged around the inner border. Thông tin bổ sung

The Fijian dollar coinage underwent significant redesign in 2009 ahead of the country's currency reform, which ultimately culminated in a complete decimalization overhaul in 2012 that reduced coin sizes dramatically and dropped the monarchy obverse entirely — a politically charged decision following Fiji's suspension from the Commonwealth after Frank Bainimarama's 2006 coup. This large copper-nickel dollar effectively represents one of the final issues before the military-led government severed that numismatic tie to the Crown.
