| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as a young sovereign, depicted at approximately age 37, wearing an ornate diadem with gold-plated detailing; the Queen's draped shoulders are rendered with selective gold plating, enhancing the regal quality of the portrait. The legend ELIZABETH II is inscribed along the upper left arc of the field, while D·G·REGINA arcs along the upper right, both in raised Latin characters. A beaded border encircles the entire design, itself framed by a gold-plated rim. The finely engraved portrait, based on the Machin effigy, is rendered in high relief against a lightly textured matte field. |
