| Obverse description | The obverse features the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear truncated at the shoulder. The legend ELIZABETH II is inscribed to the right of the portrait, with the date 2016 and the issuer inscription NIUE 1 DOLLAR appearing to the lower left. The silver fineness mark Ag925 is struck in the lower field. The entire flan is struck in the outline shape of the Kuban region, with a scalloped border following the geographic contour. |
