Aanvullende informatie

Cook Islands issued a substantial volume of commemorative and novelty coinage in the 2000s under licensing arrangements that had little connection to the islands' actual economy — these pieces were produced primarily for the collector market by external mints and distributors using Cook Islands' issuing authority as a vehicle. The William III dollar fits squarely in that commercial framework.

William III's 1694 founding of the Bank of England remains his most consequential financial act, though his wars against Louis XIV nearly bankrupted the English treasury before that institution could stabilize it.
