Obverse description The obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in right-facing profile, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left field and NIUE ISLAND along the upper right, with the denomination 1 DOLLAR inscribed to the left and the date 2017 to the lower right. The Czech Mint privy mark (CM) appears near the lower right rim. The lower portion of the coin displays a decorative Gothic trefoil architectural motif in high relief, referencing the medieval Bohemian heritage of the coin's subject, set against a deeply mirrored proof field divided by a curved band.
