| Obverse description | Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupies the central field against a frosted background. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation, accompanied by the mint mark and the fineness mark Ag 999 to the lower right. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left and NIUE ISLAND along the upper right, both separated from the inner field by a finely beaded border.
