The International Senior Games — also known as the Senior Olympics — were hosted in Bermuda in 1996, one of the few times the event was held outside North America. The Bermuda Monetary Authority issued this commemorative to mark the occasion, a fairly routine exercise for an authority that used such releases partly as a controlled revenue stream given Bermuda's limited domestic coin circulation.
