Additional information

The "GML" designation refers to Graham Meade's Lucky design, commissioned by the Royal Canadian Mint as part of a fractional bullion gift set intended to broaden entry-level gold ownership. The incused treatment — recessing the design into the field rather than raising it — was a deliberate stylistic choice referencing the historic 1908 Saint-Gaudens double eagle format, itself borrowed from ancient Greek coinage practice.

At 1/20 oz, this piece sits at the smallest practical size the Mint could strike in .9999 fineness without compromising die integrity.
