Hradčany Castle in Prague has appeared on Czechoslovak and Czech coinage since the 1920s, but this Niuean issue belongs to a different tradition entirely — the commemorative bullion market that uses Niue's licensing agreements to place foreign cultural monuments on legal tender struck by the New Zealand Mint. The arrangement is purely commercial; Niue receives a fee, the mint sells to collectors, and the coin never approaches the island.
