The Guardian Angel dollar is part of a long-running Pobjoy series issued for the British Virgin Islands, one of several Caribbean territories for which Pobjoy has held a long-standing minting franchise. These pieces circulate nominally but are produced primarily for the collector market, with distribution handled almost entirely through direct sales rather than through any banking channel in the territory itself.
