| Obverse description | Within a circular raised medallion at center, the diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, after the Jody Clark portrait. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left border and TOKELAU 2022 along the upper right. Below the effigy, the Tokelau coat of arms — depicting a traditional fatupaepae (treasure box) with a cross — is shown above the motto scroll inscribed TOKELAU MO TE ATUA. Outside the medallion, in the lower portion of the rectangular field, the denomination ONE DOLLAR is inscribed in large raised letters, flanked at left by a heart-shaped paw print motif; below the denomination, the fineness specification 1/500 OZ FINE GOLD 999/1000 appears. The rectangular field is framed by a reeded decorative border at all four sides with ornamental corner devices. |
