Surrounding the central medallion, set against a deep blue colored field evoking a starry night sky, are high-relief depictions of prehistoric flint tools and arrowheads arranged around the lower and left portions of the field. The upper portion of the field displays a detailed relief scene of early humans engaged in hunting activity, with figures, animals, and rocky terrain rendered in fine detail. The circular outer legend reads NIUE ISLAND ONE DOLLAR, distributed around the upper and right rim, with the date 2010 appearing at the left. The mint mark 'mw' for the Mint of Poland appears on the obverse near the portrait. |
