Reverse description The reverse depicts a family group of common loons (Gavia immer) in a naturalistic Canadian wilderness setting. In the upper field, an adult loon is shown launching into flight from a lake surface, wings fully extended and water droplets scattering beneath it, while in the lower field a second adult loon swims serenely with a small chick nestled at its side. A backdrop of coniferous trees and rocky shoreline frames the composition, evoking the boreal landscape. The legend CANADA arcs across the upper periphery in bold block lettering, and the engraver's initial appears discreetly in the left field.
