Beschrijving keerzijde Central device comprising a large, stylised Eye of Horus rendered in selective gold plating, featuring elaborate falcon-feather extensions above and a spiral teardrop marking below, occupying the majority of the field. The background is densely incised with rows of mirrored ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics in low relief against the black nickel surface, evoking an authentic papyrus or temple-wall inscription. The legend ANCIENT EGYPT arcs along the upper border and EYE OF HORUS along the lower border, both in gold-toned Latin lettering.

Aanvullende informatie

The Solomon Islands has become one of the more prolific issuers of novelty legal tender since the early 2000s, licensing its monetary authority to European minting houses — primarily the Bavarian firm B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt — for collector-targeted issues that never approach the islands themselves. This piece is legal tender in name only; no meaningful circulation was ever intended, and the face value bears no relationship to production cost.

The black nickel finish with selective gold plating is a technique refined largely for the commemorative market in the 2010s.
