Obverse description The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, rendered by Susanna Blunt, depicting the monarch bare-headed and facing right, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs across the upper field, while D•G•REGINA curves along the lower field. The portrait presents the Queen at approximately 77 years of age in a refined, unadorned style characteristic of Blunt's coinage design. The effigy is positioned centrally within the coin's eleven-sided flan.
