Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, a drop earring, and a pearl necklace, as designed by Raphael David Maklouf. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field, with fine detail in the Queen's curled hair and regalia. The legend QUEEN ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 1 DOLLAR, the issuing authority TUVALU, and the date 2010 are distributed around the lower portion of the coin. The engraver's initials RDM appear below the truncation of the bust.
