| Beschrijving keerzijde | A richly detailed depiction of Cleopatra VII fills the triangular field in the style of ancient Egyptian relief art. The central motif is a large profile bust of Cleopatra facing right, adorned with an elaborate headdress with radiating solar elements and a prominent earring. Surrounding the central bust, the field is densely populated with smaller Egyptian figural scenes rendered in hierarchical scale, including standing and kneeling figures, hieroglyphic cartouches, and architectural elements evoking pharaonic iconography. A small pyramidal form crowns the apex of the composition. The entire design is executed in gold-plated high relief with no inscriptions on this face. |
