Additional information

Part of a broad Pacific island micro-gold program that flooded the collector market in the early 2010s, these fractional pieces were struck in bulk for the souvenir and gift trade rather than genuine numismatic circulation. The Solomon Islands lent its issuing authority to dozens of such pieces during this period without any meaningful domestic monetary relationship to the subjects depicted.

Christ the Redeemer, completed in 1931 atop Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro, has no connection to Solomon Islands history or geography.
