| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central motif depicting a color-applied cave painting of an elephant rendered in ochre-brown tones, faithfully reproducing the prehistoric rock art found in the Cave of Tadrart Acacus in Algeria, dated to approximately 12,000 BC. The background field is textured to evoke the rough surface of a cave wall. The inscription CAVE OF TADRART arcs across the upper field in a stylized, petroglyph-inspired lettering, while the legend ELEPHANT CA. 12,000 BC appears in similar decorative script along the lower arc. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Niue's arrangement with the New Zealand Mint has made it one of the more prolific issuers of themed collector silver in the Pacific, licensing its sovereignty for commemorative programs with no practical connection to the island's 1,600-odd residents. The Cave of Tadrart — a prehistoric rock art site in Algeria's Tassili n'Ajjer plateau, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 — has no geographic or historical link to Niue whatsoever.
This is a bullion-adjacent souvenir, not a circulation issue.
