| Description de l’avers | The obverse features a central medallion bearing the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, a right-facing crowned and draped portrait engraved by Ian Rank-Broadley. Surrounding the central portrait, a broad annular band carries the legend ELIZABETH II to the upper left and NIUE ISLAND to the upper right, with the date 2010, the denomination 1 DOLLAR, and the fineness mark Ag 925 arranged along the lower arc. The outer border of the coin is composed of twelve raised circular medallions, each depicting one of the twelve zodiac signs with its corresponding symbol in low relief, arranged in a clock-like formation around the central design. |

| Description du revers | The reverse presents a richly colored Art Nouveau-style bust of a young woman in left-facing profile, inspired by Alphonse Mucha's celebrated zodiac series. Her voluminous hair is elaborately adorned with ivy leaves rendered in polychrome color, and a rose blossom appears at the lower right amid decorative foliage. At the lower center, a small raised medallion depicts the sea-goat, the symbolic creature of Capricorn, accompanied by the astrological glyph for the sign. The legend CAPRICORN is inscribed in raised relief along the right field against a background of interlocking Gothic trefoil ornamental motifs. The composition combines selective color application with mirror-like proof fields to produce a striking contrast between the colored portrait and the polished silver decorative elements. |
