Obverse description The obverse presents a refined right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Susan Taylor, depicting the monarch in mature portrait with softly waved hair pinned at the nape, wearing a pearl necklace and drop earrings. The bust is set against a deeply mirrored proof field, framed by a finely executed inner beaded border. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left, while D·G·REGINA continues along the upper right, both rendered in incuse Latin capitals. The engraver's initials appear discretely below the truncation of the bust. The portrait conveys regal dignity consistent with Taylor's interpretation of the Queen's later coinage effigies.
