Obverse description At the upper center of the oval flan, a small circular inset bears the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, diademed and draped, as engraved by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the legend ELIZABETH II below the portrait. The issuer name NIUE ISLAND arcs along the upper rim, while the fineness mark Ag 999 appears to the left and the year 2013 to the right of the inset. The denomination 1 DOLLAR is inscribed in the field below the portrait. Dominating the center of the obverse is a gilt cartouche featuring a Cossack warrior standing between two cannons, rendered in high relief with gold-plated finish. The Cyrillic inscription ВИДАТНІ ГЕТЬМАНИ УКРАЇНИ (Outstanding Hetmans of Ukraine) curves along the lower rim.

Reverse description The reverse presents a finely detailed portrait bust of Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky facing slightly left, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. He is depicted wearing a traditional Cossack hat adorned with feathers and a large ornamental button, with a drooping mustache and richly decorated attire. To the right of the portrait, his personal coat of arms is shown in relief. The Cyrillic legend ГЕТЬМАН БОГДАН ХМЕЛЬНИЦЬКИЙ arcs along the upper left rim. His birth and death years, 1595–1657, are inscribed along the lower edge of the oval flan.
