| Obverse description | At the upper center of the oval flan, a small circular inset bears the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, diademed and draped, as engraved by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the legend ELIZABETH II below the portrait. The issuer name NIUE ISLAND arcs along the upper rim, while the fineness mark Ag 999 appears to the left and the year 2013 to the right of the inset. The denomination 1 DOLLAR is inscribed in the field below the portrait. Dominating the center of the obverse is a gilt cartouche featuring a Cossack warrior standing between two cannons, rendered in high relief with gold-plated finish. The Cyrillic inscription ВИДАТНІ ГЕТЬМАНИ УКРАЇНИ (Outstanding Hetmans of Ukraine) curves along the lower rim. |
