Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, facing right, bare-headed, wearing a necklace and earrings, as portrayed at approximately 77 years of age. The legend arcs around the upper periphery, with the monarch's titles rendered in Latin. The portrait is executed in fine relief against a flat field, consistent with the Dora de Pédery-Hunt-era successor portrait used on Canadian coinage of this period.
