| Reverse description | The reverse presents a naturalistically rendered Blanding's turtle (Emydoidea blandingii) perched on a weathered log, its distinctive domed carapace prominently displayed with finely engraved spotting and scute detailing, and its head raised alertly. Slender marsh grasses cross the composition diagonally behind the subject, evoking the turtle's wetland habitat. The engraver's initials PG appear to the right of the design. The arc legend CANADA DOLLAR runs along the upper rim in bold capitals, and the date 2021 is inscribed at the base of the coin. |
