Additional information

The Battle of Kursk in July–August 1943 was the largest tank engagement in history, involving roughly 6,000 armored vehicles across the German Operation Citadel and the Soviet counter-offensive. Germany's defeat there permanently ended its capacity for strategic offensive operations on the Eastern Front. The Perth Mint has issued numerous coins in its WWII commemorative series, and this dollar — legal tender under the Australian Currency Act despite its obvious collector orientation — is struck to the same .999 fine silver specification used across that program.
