Beschrijving keerzijde A richly colored peacock perches on a gnarled branch occupying the central field of the rectangular flan, its iridescent tail feathers cascading downward and displaying elaborate ocellated plumage rendered in vivid greens, blues, and gold. The background depicts a naturalistic landscape scene with lush foliage and a cascading waterfall, applied in full color. Pink orchid blossoms are shown in the lower foreground. The zodiac sign name AQUARIUS appears as a bold legend at the top of the field, flanked by decorative scrollwork ornaments in the upper corners.

Aanvullende informatie

Cook Islands has issued zodiac-themed dollars in considerable volume since the early 2000s, largely targeting the collector and gift market rather than any numismatic tradition rooted in the islands themselves. The Authority Currency Board licenses these designs to private minting operations — in this case almost certainly the Mint of Poland, which has produced the majority of Cook Islands' novelty silver issues during this period.

Collector attrition on these series is high; complete zodiac sets rarely survive intact in the secondary market.
