Additional information

The AN-148 was a Russian regional jet developed by Antonov and produced in Voronezh, certificated by Russian aviation authorities in 2007 — making this 2008 issue essentially a release-year commemorative. Cook Islands became a prolific issuer of themed silver dollars through the 2000s, contracting with the Pobjoy Mint and others to produce collector pieces that circulate almost exclusively through the numismatic market rather than the islands themselves, whose GDP would not support the face value of the metal.
