| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features a full-color reproduction of Alphonse Mucha's lithograph 'Dance' (1898), depicting a flowing female figure in a crimson gown set within a circular Art Nouveau decorative frame, rendered in vivid polychrome enamel against a dark field. Ornamental floral motifs in relief occupy the four corners of the rectangular flan. In the lower left, a small uncolored relief effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, wearing the George IV State Diadem. The legend 'NIUE ISLAND 2010 1 DOLLAR' runs vertically along the right border, with 'ELIZABETH II' inscribed horizontally along the lower margin, all in raised Latin lettering. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Niue has operated a prolific commemorative bullion program since the 1990s, licensing external designs — often artistic or pop-cultural — to generate seigniorage revenue from foreign collectors rather than domestic circulation. This piece draws on the Art Nouveau work of Alphonse Mucha, the Czech painter whose decorative poster commissions for Sarah Bernhardt in 1890s Paris made his style instantly recognizable a century later.
Mucha himself died in 1939, weeks after being interrogated by the Gestapo following the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia. His estate and the Mucha Foundation have since actively licensed his imagery across commercial products — this coin among them.
