| Obverse description | Diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing a tiara and with elaborately curled hair, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley. The peripheral legend reads BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS to the upper left and QUEEN ELIZABETH II to the upper right, with the date 2013 at lower right. The field is mirror-polished, giving the coin a proof-like appearance. |

Part of a British Virgin Islands commemorative series on Russian tsars, this issue marks the bicentennial of Alexander I's pivotal role in the 1813 campaigns following Napoleon's catastrophic retreat from Moscow. It was Alexander who pushed for the allied pursuit into Western Europe against the cautious advice of his own generals — a decision that ultimately brought Russian forces to Paris in 1814.
