| Reverse description | Two gold-gilded mice depicted in high relief amid ears of corn and husks rendered in frosted silver finish, one mouse positioned diagonally across a corn cob in the upper left field and a second mouse facing right in the lower centre. To the right of the central device, the Chinese character 鼠 (Mouse) appears above the English legend MOUSE and the date 2020. The Perth Mint's P mintmark is situated in the lower right field. The gilding applied selectively to the mice creates a vivid contrast against the ungilded silver background. |

Australia's lunar series has run long enough that the Mouse represents the second full cycle through the Chinese zodiac — the Perth Mint having first issued a Mouse dollar in 1996. The gilding on these pieces is applied selectively to isolate the primary motif against the frosted silver field, a process refined considerably since the first gilded lunar issues of the early 2000s.
The 6th portrait of Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, was introduced across Commonwealth coinage in 2015.
