Reverse description The reverse features a dynamic composition divided between two thematic registers representing the letter 'B' for Bushrangers in the third series of the Great Aussie Coin Hunt. To the left, a masked bushranger on horseback gallops at full pace through a stylised Australian bush landscape, with a second mounted figure visible in the middle ground and decorative concentric line engraving in the background. To the right, a large decorative letter 'B' dominates the lower field, overlaid with fragments of Australian bush imagery, while the denomination '1 DOLLAR' is inscribed above it. The word 'BUSHRANGERS' is inscribed vertically along the left border of the design.

Additional information

The Great Aussie Coin Hunt series, launched by the Royal Australian Mint in 2019, was a circulation-aimed promotional program designed to drive public engagement with coinage at a time when cash transactions in Australia were declining sharply — a trend the pandemic accelerated considerably. By the third installment in 2022, the RAM was also producing silver proof variants of each lettered issue for the collector market, effectively running two parallel audiences: children hunting change and adults buying capsulated strikes.

The sixth portrait of Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, was adopted by Australia in 2019.
