Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse features a large stylised letter O dominating the left and centre of the field, representing the alphabetical theme of the Great Aussie Coin Hunt 2 series. Behind and to the right of the letter O, a detailed depiction of the Sydney Opera House is rendered with its iconic shell-shaped roof structures set against a sky with clouds and seagulls in flight. The lower portion of the field shows stylised ocean waves beneath the building. The inscription Sydney in cursive script followed by OPERA HOUSE appears across the mid-field, while the denomination ONE DOLLAR is inscribed in block capitals along the lower exergue.

Aanvullende informatie

The Great Aussie Coin Hunt series — first run in 2019 and revived in 2021 with a second alphabet set — was a circulation-release program designed in partnership with major supermarket chains, with specially marked coin bags distributed through Woolworths registers. The "Letter O" was one of 26 designs seeded into general circulation across Australia, each reverse referencing a culturally specific noun beginning with that letter. Participation drove a measurable spike in civilian coin handling at a moment when contactless payments had already begun eroding everyday cash use in Australia.
