Aanvullende informatie

The Great Aussie Coin Hunt series — the second iteration launched in 2021 — was a circulation-release campaign designed to drive public engagement with coinage at a moment when contactless payment had measurably reduced the handling of physical currency in Australia. The Royal Australian Mint assigned a letter of the alphabet to culturally specific Australian subjects, turning the dollar coin into a collectible series distributed through everyday retail channels.

"C" in this series depicts a subject tied to Australian vernacular identity. The campaign's predecessor in 2019 generated enough public interest that secondary market premiums appeared almost immediately on uncirculated examples pulled directly from change.
