Beschrijving voorzijde Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the sixth definitive portrait by Jody Clark, depicting the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, drop earrings, and a pearl necklace. The designer's initials 'JC' appear incuse at the base of the truncation. The circumferential legend reads 'ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA' in the upper field, with '1oz 9999 Ag' to the lower left and '1 DOLLAR' to the lower right, separated by the date '2021' at the base. The deeply mirrored proof field provides strong contrast against the frosted relief of the effigy.

Aanvullende informatie

The Perth Mint has issued commemorative dollar coins marking royal milestones with considerable regularity, but the 95th birthday issue arrived during an unusual moment: Elizabeth II was observing the occasion privately at Windsor Castle following the death of Prince Philip just days earlier, on April 9, 2021. The birthday itself fell on April 21. Public celebrations were cancelled, and the planned gun salutes were reduced out of respect for the mourning period.

This was among the final commemoratives struck before her death in September 2022 closed the long run of Australian issues bearing her effigy.
