| Reverse description | The reverse, designed by Adam William Hamilton, features a central circular mother-of-pearl insert bearing the silhouette map of Australia in relief against the lustrous natural material, evoking the surrounding ocean. Encircling the central insert is a deep blue enamel ring, beyond which a broad silver annular field is richly adorned with a variety of Australian marine fauna in high relief, including a shark, sea turtle, seahorse, octopus, tropical fish, starfish, manta ray, and coral, all rendered with fine naturalistic detail. The legend '2021 1oz 9999 SILVER' is inscribed along the left arc of the silver field, with the Perth Mint 'P' mintmark and the engraver's initials 'AH' also present in the field. The overall composition evokes the ocean environment surrounding the Australian continent. |
