Reverse description A powerful Chinese tiger, depicted in highly detailed high relief, rears on the left side of the field facing right, confronting a sinuous Chinese dragon rendered in fine scale detail on the right, its body arching across the upper field. Between the two mythical creatures at the centre of the composition sits a flaming pearl, depicted as a polished sphere surrounded by stylised flames, symbolising wisdom and good fortune in East Asian iconography. Auspicious cloud scrolls fill the border of the inner field, framing the composition in a manner consistent with traditional Chinese decorative art. The Perth Mint's P mint mark appears discreetly to the right of the dragon, and the letters TV are inscribed in the field.
