The series targets the significant Chinese-Australian collector market and aligns with longstanding Perth Mint strategy of issuing bullion and proof pairings under separate KM numbers — hence the dual reference. The .9999 fineness, rather than the more common .999, has been a Perth Mint marketing distinction since the 1990s.
