| Reverse description | A finely detailed kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) is depicted in right-facing profile, perched upon the rim of an ornate stone garden urn or balustrade, with stylised foliage and topiary trees visible in the background to the left. The bird's plumage, beak, and tail feathers are rendered with exceptional sculptural relief. The bold legend 'KOOKABURRA' arcs along the upper right periphery in a distinctive serif typeface, while the inscription '2022 1oz 9999 SILVER' appears along the upper left field. The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark is situated in the lower right field, and the engraver's initials 'NM' appear near the lower centre of the design. |

| Additional information |
The Australian Kookaburra series has run continuously since 1990, making it one of the longest-lived bullion programs from any mint. Each year's reverse carries a new kookaburra design — a deliberate policy that drives date collectors and keeps secondary market premiums above melt. The 2022 issue marks the first year of Ian Rank-Broadley's sixth portrait of Elizabeth II appearing on Australian bullion coinage, a transition that occurred just months before her death in September of that year.
The multiple KM references reflect distinct privy mark and finish variants struck for that year, a practice Perth has used aggressively since the 1990s to segment collector markets across different distribution channels.
