| Beschrijving keerzijde | A full-color depiction of the Fifth Doctor, as portrayed by actor Peter Davison, dominates the central field, shown seated and wearing his characteristic cream-colored frock coat with red trim and striped trousers. To his left, a monochrome relief of a Cyberman stands in the background, with the blue TARDIS visible at upper right within a swirling green cosmic field. The legends DOCTOR WHO and Fifth Doctor are inscribed in the lower left field, with the dates 1981 - 1984 below, and licensing text along the lower rim. The border features a stylized mechanical motif consistent with the series' imagery. |

Part of a New Zealand Mint series celebrating the BBC's Doctor Who franchise ahead of its 50th anniversary in November 2013, this issue depicts the Fifth Doctor as portrayed by Peter Davison from 1981 to 1984. Niue has been a reliable vehicle for licensed pop-culture coinage since the early 2000s, its status as a New Zealand realm territory giving the New Zealand Mint direct access to a legal tender framework without touching New Zealand's own coinage.
Davison remains the youngest actor to have originated the role at the time of casting — a distinction held until Matt Smith took it in 2010.
