| 背面描述 | The reverse features a stylised depiction of a cicada in dynamic flight, rendered with fine detail across its segmented body, transparent veined wings, and prominent antennae. The insect is set against a circular sunburst motif in the central field, flanked by boldly outlined leaf forms suggestive of native Australian vegetation. The inscription CICADA arcs across the upper field in decorative lettering, with the Perth Mint mintmark P visible to the lower left and the designer's initials EM appearing in the lower field. The overall design reflects the playful, nature-focused aesthetic of the Young Collectors series. |

The "Young Collectors" series was the Royal Australian Mint's deliberate attempt to pull a generation raised on screens back toward physical currency. The cicada dollar was aimed squarely at children, timed loosely around the insect's summer emergence cycles familiar to any Australian kid who'd ever peeled a shell off a backyard eucalyptus. Mintage was intentionally modest to encourage the collecting habit — the series depended on scarcity to keep young collectors hunting.
