Additional information

Part of a broader "Young Collectors" program the Perth Mint ran through the early 2010s, these pad-printed aluminium bronze dollars were struck for circulation but clearly intended as keepsakes rather than pocket change. The pad printing process — essentially an industrial ink transfer technique — was adapted for coin production to achieve the kind of multicolour surface decoration that conventional die striking cannot produce.

KM#2136 is one of several sport-themed releases in the series, each sharing the same host coin but differentiated by printed design. Mintage figures for individual motifs within the program are difficult to isolate from combined series totals.
