| Descrizione del rovescio | Full-body coloured depiction of the 'Dayuan' horse, a chestnut stallion standing in profile facing left, rendered after the famous series of imperial equestrian paintings by the Jesuit court painter Giuseppe Castiglione (Lang Shining) commissioned during the Qianlong era. To the right of the horse, vertical columns of Chinese characters record the calligraphic inscription attributing the work to the artist, with two red imperial seal stamps positioned in the upper right field. To the lower left, the horse's name '大宛騮' (Dayuan) is inscribed in large Chinese characters. The Perth Mint 'P' mintmark appears at the bottom centre of the field. |
