Obverse description The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, as rendered by sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley. Reverse description A World War I nurse in full uniform, including a veil and cape, is depicted bending compassionately over a wounded soldier who lies recumbent on a field stretcher or cot, his head bandaged. The nurse holds a lantern in her left hand, casting radiating lines of light across the field, evoking the iconic imagery of wartime nursing service. The inscription WOMEN OF WORLD WAR I arcs along the upper rim, and the Perth Mint mintmark P appears at lower left. The designer's initials AH are present in the field.
