Aanvullende informatie

The RCM logo added to this series beginning in 2006 was part of a broader authentication initiative, introduced after concerns about counterfeiting of circulating dollar coins. Canada's loon dollar had by this point been in circulation for nearly two decades, long enough that organized counterfeiting had become a practical problem rather than a theoretical one.

Susanna Blunt's fourth-portrait effigy, adopted across Commonwealth coinage from 2003, was the first royal portrait selected through a public competition rather than commissioned through traditional royal channels.
