Issued under license from the Wiggles entertainment group at the height of the franchise's international commercial peak, this piece belongs to a short-lived Perth Mint program pairing legal-tender coinage with children's media properties. The pad-printing process — a form of indirect offset printing adapted for curved metal surfaces — was still relatively novel in Australian coin production at this point, allowing photorealistic color without enamel or cloisonné techniques.
Circulation was negligible; these were sold directly into collector packaging and almost never spent. Most survivors are indistinguishable from mint state.
