The "Great Aussie Coin Hunt" was a Royal Australian Mint circulation campaign that released 26 aluminium bronze dollars — one per letter of the alphabet — into general circulation in 2019, each pairing a letter with a distinctly Australian cultural reference. The silver proof version of the "C" coin was struck separately for collectors, sharing the design but nothing of the original campaign's populist intent.
The program was modeled loosely on similar alphabet hunt promotions run by the Royal Mint in the UK, adapted for Australian retail distribution through supermarket change.
